NICE JOB GUNTER, HIS DOCTOR AT CHILDREN’S MERCY RECOMMENDED CASEY SKILLS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE BEST TO WORK WITH A BRAIN INJURY CHAMPION. HUNTER HAS BEEN WORKING WITH CASEY SKILLS FOR A LITTLE OVER TWO YEARS, regaining most of his Mobility and some of his cognitive function. I WAS ONCE IN A WHEELCHAIR AND NOW I STAY WITH THE ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIFE. I HAVE TO START FROM CHILD TO CHILD LEVEL TO WHERE I AM WHERE I AM NOW. WE ARE WORKING FOR EVERYONE WITH FINE MOTOR SKILLS. WE HAD VERY LIMITED MOVEMENT ON THE RIGHT ARM. HE HAD SOME MOVEMENT WITH HIS ARMS, BUT NOT TOO MUCH WITHOUT SNAP. HE COULDN’T MISS ANYTHING. EACH TIME HE CROSSED, WE PROGRESS SLOWLY, INCREASING HIS MOVEMENT, INCREASING HIS FUNCTION. UM, OVERALL, HE HAS GROWN A LOT IN FAITH OVER THE YEARS. IT’S REALLY EXCITING TO WATCH HIM. ABILITY CASEY IS METERS ONLY IN A REHABILITATION SERVICE OFFERING PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY AS WELL AS SPEECH, PSYCHOLOGICAL, AQUATIC AND VISION THERAPY. THIS IS WHY HUNTER is making so much progress. WOW, THAT WAS impressive. BUT COMMUNITY SUPPORT IS NECESSARY TO KEEP GOING. UNFORTUNATELY SOMETIMES INSURANCE DOESN’T ALWAYS PAY FOR THE CARE THEY NEED, BUT WE ARE SOMETIMES LIMITED. IF INSURANCE DOESN’T PAY FOR THERAPY AND IT’S SOMETHING THEY REALLY NEED, GOOD CATCHES FOR THE HUNTING, HIS GOAL IS CLEAR HE WILL GET BACK TO PLAYING BASEBALL AGAIN.
