They also highlighted the complicated emotions many families can relate to.”Life wasn’t always easy for Grayson and although he took his own life, we know he rests in peace now,” they said. Professional athletes have become more open about their experiences. Murray bravely shared his struggles with alcoholism and depression over the years. Simone Biles, Naomi Osaka, Kevin Love, Michael Phelps and now you will see Republic of Sac FC proudly wear 988 on their jerseys, the national suicide and crisis rope. The message is that we know the struggle is real, so please don’t give up. As a community, we must do more. Learn the signs, ask questions and listen. And just because one seems to be okay, it may be the next life transition that is too much to handle. If you or someone you know needs help, you can talk to the Suicide and Crisis Line by calling or texting 988, or you can chat online here.
